Clean Eating Tandoori Chicken

At times i find myself craving for some good old tandoori chicken with a cheese naan. Here is a good clean eating tandoori chicken recipe (minus the unnecessary colouring) which is also adapted from a recipe given to me by my Aunt Deb. You can have the tandoori chicken on its own, use it for butter chicken, in a wrap, in a salad, the options are endless!
Clean Eating Tandoori Chicken

Ingredients:
4 chicken quarters
3/4 cup low fat/fat free yogurt
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp ginger pulp
1 tsp garlic pulp
1 1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp tumeric
1 tsp ground coriander
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 tsp salt
2 Tablespoon oil

-Preheat oven to gas mark 7.
-Mix yogurt, garam masala, ginger, garlic, chilli powder, tumeric, ground coriander, lemon juice, salt and oil.
Cover chicken with mixture and marinate for a minimum of 3 hours (flavour will be better if marinated overnight).
-Bake for oven for 20-25 mins or until chicken is cooked.

Clean Eating Butter Chicken

I try to eat clean whenever i can. But with mamak and hawker centres everywhere, it is definetely hard living in Malaysia while trying to eat clean. A little while ago, my best friend challenged me to make some clean butter chicken So, by tweaking a recipe given to me by my Aunt Deb i managed to make a really yummy clean version of Butter Chicken!

PBIM 2013 Part One: Dayumm Burger, Penang.

So, last weekend my friends and I went up to Penang for one mission. To conquer the PBIM 2013! PBIM is known to many as the Penang Bridge International Marathon. While that particular marathon was being held in Penang that particular weekend, my friends and i had a different marathon in mind. It was the Pork Burger Ingestion Marathon(PBIM) 2013 where we consumed at least one pork burger a day...in some cases two or three.

We initially went to Penang on a food hunt but it quickly turned into a PBIM when we were introduced to Dayumm Burger by a group of friends from Penang. It turns out that Dayumm Burger is one of the best pork burger stalls in Penang. You can imagine the jakuness in me when i heard the words BACON BURGER from a PORKn BURGER STALL!We aren't blessed with such stalls in KL.  Not only did they have pork pork pork and pork but the burgers were SO GOOD! The patty was moist and juicy, definately not the processed crap. I tried the pork burger with bacon and cheese and the baconathor which has egg, vege and not one,not two or three but FOUR pieces of bacon.I have dubbed it as the MEGANATHOR! :D Oh one more thing, the prices there are too good to be true! Everything below rm20!

Okay i better stop now. This is making me hungry. I wonder if they deliver to KL?hmmmm.
Anyways, if you're in Penang, be sure to check out Dayumm Burger!! I heard that they have just opened their second stall. Hopefully, there will be one opened in KL soon. If they do, i know i'll definately be a happier, fluffier Megan:)

Nasi Kandar Line Clear

This post was written a year ago! I've heard this past year that the standards of Line Clear has dropped slightly. However, I have not tried it again(since last July) to clarify such serious implications!

Penang is famous for its variety of good food. Whenever I'm in Penang, i go on a special diet called the SEE-food diet ;) It is impossible to go to Penang and to count calories (if you do, i'm pretty sure you're calorie counter would breakdown). Everytime i go to Penang, i make sure that i get my Nasi Kandar fix. This year when i headed up to Penang i made sure that i went back to Nasi Kandar Line Clear (i tried it for the first time 3 years ago).

It is not that difficult to find the lane where this stall is located at as there is a big sign above it BUT beware because its competitor is located at the front of the lane and will not hesistate to trick you into thinking that his stall is Nasi Kandar Line Clear. The best sign to know that you're at the 'real' Nasi Kandar Line Clear is the wall of fame. When you see this, you'll know that you're at the right place.
Line Clear Wall of Fame

The atmosphere of the stall is...how do i put it? umm.. interesting. Canteen style seating and loads of pets around for you to look at. But you know, in Malaysia we say, the more cats, rats, dogs around, the better the taste of the food! Make sure you tell the Aneh (Indian Big Brother) to banjir(flood) your rice with ALL the aromatic curries! It's the best like that! I usually like to have my Nasi Kandar with just vegetables and chicken or beef.
